Creating a tech-savvy home that is up-to-date and reflects both form and function can seem like quite the challenge. However, finding a balance when it comes to audio and visual integration doesn’t have to be just wishful thinking. The latest solutions are not just more innovative and easier to use, but they’re also designed to be sleek and beautiful in the home.
TVs You Have to See to Believe
Televisions have come a long way since the first electronic television debuted in 1927. One of our favorite examples of this evolution is the Samsung Frame. We can’t say enough about this 4K UHD SmartTV. It features the latest technical specifications while also blending in seamlessly while not in use. When idle, you can display a photograph or painting of your choosing or browse options in the integrated Art Store. The LG Signature OLED TV R is another worthy example. The 65-inch screen actually retracts into a soundbar base, taking up minimal space when not in use. All-in-one TVs like these ultimately offer the benefit of having less equipment, which means less cords, remotes, and visual noise.

The Latest Soundbars
After finding the right TV, enhancing your sound experience with the perfect soundbar is a great next step (unless you have the LG Signature OLED TV R which unrolls it’s screen from the base unit!) Compiling individual audio components to create a customized surround-sound setup may be appealing to some. For others, however, soundbars are a great alternative that require less space, fewer cables, and are easier to use. JBL, Klipsch, and Sennheiser are all big names in the soundbar game that enhance watching TV and movies as well as wireless audio streaming.
The Sennheiser AMBEO 3D 5.1.4 Soundbar made a splash at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. This soundbar was created to replace everything in your home theater with the exception of the TV itself. Accurate down to 30 Hz and featuring 13 built-in speakers, it actually calibrates to your room’s acoustics to provide a customized sound. Instead of navigating a complicated series of remotes or buttons, you can use a smartphone app to configure the soundbar to fit your space. Available in May, this soundbar will make a sleek complement to any TV or home theater setup.

Speakers & Sound Systems Unite
Another important component of audio visual integration in the home is speakers and sound systems. Whatever audio you enjoy listening to, it is easier than ever to create a seamless sound experience throughout the home. Sonos is the brand to beat, as their systems offer multi-room listening by connecting to other Sonos speakers in the home via wi-fi. Multiple speakers can connect to play the same audio in different rooms or even different audio in each room. With smartphone app-enabled controls, switching between Apple Music, Spotify, or Google Play is quick and easy. Currently, Sonos only offers Amazon Alexa connectivity. However, they recently announced plans to link to Google Assistant and Siri in the near future.
If sound systems aren’t f
or you, there are numerous speaker options that stand well on their own. For fans of vinyl, the Klipsch R-51PM offers a phono input, meaning you can connect your record play directly into the speaker without a preamp. Operated via remote control, it features an amplifier already built in, Bluetooth connectivity, and different input modes. The R-51PM also gets points for style with its copper accents.
Audio visual integration is no longer a future fantasy for homes and there are plenty of options to turn your audio visual dreams into a reality. Not sure where to begin? Contact WPL Interior Design today to get started!
