Eye-catching designs are one of life’s great pleasures, but life is even better when the same designs make our home lives easier. Thankfully, smart technology provides both benefits in one, offering beauty and brains!
Specifically, smart technology has been a major focus at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) for many years thanks to its ability to simplify everyday tasks at home. This year was no exception. Tech companies lined up to showcase appealing designs that solve needs around the home.
In this article, we dive into this year’s new smart products and show how they work together to enhance and enrich our daily lives.
Smart Lighting Products
This year, four new smart lighting products were unveiled. Two of them – the GE Smart Hexagon panels and Smart Neon-Shape Lights – work like the lighting from Nanoleaf. They offer dynamic lighting in a range of colors to suit our moods. Now we have more options to fit the decor of each room or create a disco area anywhere in our home. We also have options for lighting that can be shaped however we like!
Secondly, there is the Yeelight Cube. This option is considered one of the best smart home products from CES 2023 – partly because it reminds us to have fun! We get soft ambient lighting combined with an ever-changing display of dotted lights reminiscent of early-age computer lighting. The Yeelight Cube additionally lets us control and customize lighting through an app. Customization is a key characteristic of the cube, as it also comes in three models: Spot, Matrix, and Panel, which can be stacked on top of one another.
Smart Hexagon panels were the fourth release and are capable of providing a multi-color light show that syncs with music. They can display up to 16 million colors, including multiple colors at the same time.
Smart TVs
TVs are getting shaper and cleaner! In fact, LG launched a Wireless OLED M3 TV that ditches cables for an ultra-clean look. Samsung hopes to make MicroLED TVs mainstream with smaller, more affordable models. Then, there’s the Hisense UX Series TV, which showcases the brightest Mini-LED panel the company has ever produced while competing with OLED and QLED sets.
Outdoor Tech
With water becoming an increasingly valuable commodity, Rachio’s timing couldn’t be better. The Rachio Smart Hose Timer is a device that helps us save on our utility bills by reducing water waste. Once the smart valve is attached to a spigot, the timer allows for monitoring of water usage and the creation of watering schedules. As a result, this helps conserve water and lower utility bills. The device comes with a WiFi hub and the Rachio app, which provides detailed statistics about water usage – including the amount of water saved.
More Sustainable Electricity
Schneider Electric revealed new smart home energy products with a focus on sustainability. They were a CES 2023 Innovation Award Honoree. The products include its home energy management solution made up of several smart technology products:
· Home battery for clean energy storage
· High-power solar inverter
· Smart electrical panel
· Electric vehicle charger
· Smart light switches and sockets
· Solar controller
· Smart plugs
Kitchen Tech
As always, kitchens saw many advancements in smart tech. A few highlights were the Bespoke Home Refrigerator and the AI Wall Oven, both by Samsung. They improve food freshness and cooking while beautifying the room they’re in. Brava also revealed a new smart oven. Blenders and cutting boards are also increasingly using smart tech to make food prep easier. A New Robot Vacuum
Roborock unveiled its S8 series, a top-of-the-line product that combines vacuuming and mopping technology. After cleaning, the robot heads to the RockDock Ultra System to automatically wash the mop, empty dust, refill the cleaning solution, and more. The vacuum also comes with improved suction of 6,000Pa. Cleaning just got a whole lot easier.
Smarter Home Security
Home security was also a major theme at CES 2023, with companies showcasing new products that keep homes safer and more secure. It covers everything from security cameras to smart locks – and one smart lock stood out. The Locky Flex Touch Pro turns a regular lock into a smart lock. It uses 3D biometric touch technology to allow quick access to a home while storing up to 99 fingerprints.
That’s our list of some of the most appealing smart tech for homes shown at CES 2023. What will 2024 bring? We’ll keep you posted!
