Bright reds and pinks, as well as vibrant greens and light brown neutrals, have been the trending colors of 2019. In the past few years, we’ve seen colors getting bolder and patterns getting bigger and louder inside homes. And as we prepare for this year to close, we’re excited to see the evolving trends of color and what’s to come.
What Colors Will Trend in 2020
Warm Neutrals
While we still wait in anticipation for Pantone’s 2020 Color of the Year, there’s no doubt that color trends have continued to evolve as 2019 closes. Greige still continues to be a great neutral pick because it matches with both warm and cool color schemes. But current trends are heading towards warm and nature-inspired neutrals, such as earthy browns and reds, terracotta orange, clay, and copper.
Metallics
There is no better way to add more luxury into your home than gold…or is there? Late last year, Pantone introduced a new palette of 200 new metallic shimmers as part of their Fashion, Home, and Interiors system. Now, the trends are catching up and homeowners are excited to add more shimmer and shine throughout their home.
Back to Nature
Many of this year’s color palettes were inspired by social sustainability and food ingredients. To follow, we think that next year’s colors will continue to be inspired by the natural world. Light and dark greens, rich browns, and floral reds and purples are bringing homeowners closer to mother nature. Outside of just color, large and bold patterns of greenery and florals also continue to trend.
