Fourteen months and a thousand hours later we see the culmination of our efforts in this month’s Philadelphia magazine. Design Home 2016 has closed and gone to print and the results are now available for all to see for the month of December on your local newsstand. We are quite proud of the feature and pleased with the results. This is a reflection of the vision, creativity, and hard work of many individuals and their companies; Sherry Litwer and Philadelphia magazine who had a vision for a yearly event that focused on residential design in the Philadelphia area; John Farina, US Construction and National Realty, who as developers had a vision for a project in Society Hill unlike any other; Jose Fernandes, AIA and JKRP Architects who had a vision for a modern and contemporary town house in the most historic square mile of the United States of America; MANNA, a charity who had a vision to help people who could not help themselves; Thirty-some sponsors who all saw the vision and created their own vision within their own spaces to add to the overall vision of creating a great home and a great project.
WPL Interior Design thanks everyone who worked on this project. Not just these people, but their teams of many, many people; there are hundreds of you. We thank you with the deepest, most sincere and most heartfelt gratitude. This city, this waterfront, this neighborhood, this location, this design and this charity means the world to us. Many of you know why, others do not, but trust us of our hearts have been touched through the entire process and there was not a moment where we did not realize how lucky we were to be alive and standing on this spot where so many loved ones had stood before but no longer could. Throughout the process we knew we were standing on hallowed ground and we treated it as such.
In loving memory of Steven Weixler and Albert Taxin,
we love you and miss you very much.
