We have been working with Sherwin-Williams paints for our entire 35 years in business and one thing we have observed is that Sherwin-Williams is a leader in paint technology. There have been vast changes in paint technology over those three and a half decades. Not only do color forecasts and trends change but today’s paint is not the same old paint. Continuing research and new technologies in manufacturing gives Sherwin-Williams’ paints great characteristics and qualities.
In Design Home 2016 we were able to use the Emerald line of paint. Sherwin-Williams finest paint ever! The Emerald Interior Acrylic Latex Paint is both paint and primer in one with advanced stain blocking technology. It delivers best-in-class overall performance to ensure a beautiful, smooth finish and stunning color for years to come.
Emerald prevents stains from penetrating, offers maximum resistance to water streaking and spotting, features truly remarkable hide and covers dark colors. With exceptional coverage and wash ability, it’s perfect for any paint job.
When we began the Design Home project it was September of 2015 and we began selecting our colors from the Sherwin-Williams 2016 Color Forecast. Many colors throughout the house were chosen from the 2016 forecast and then others were added in to complement those colors.
There are some neutral constants throughout the home due to the open architecture and the central staircase core of the house and then more saturated and colorful hues in standalone spaces like bedrooms, bathrooms, the media room and some ceilings. The overall result is light, warm and neutral but not boring due to some more colorful hues sprinkled throughout and some very dark and dramatic spaces as well.
