“Bold” and “rich” are what come to mind when we look at both current and upcoming trends in interior design. Homeowners are putting on their designer’s eye and developing more defined visions of their “dream home.” This means pops of color, eye-catching patterns, and more variations in finishing touches and accessories in design trends for 2019. We are already catching glimpses of the possibilities and are excited to see what is to come.
Bold Colors
From black front doors to blue kitchens, we will continue to see explosions of color in design trends for 2019. While light and neutral colors are still the frequent choice for a home’s exterior, homeowners are becoming less afraid of adding darker shades of color inside the home. Earth tones are becoming more popular as separate trends in sustainability and interior greenery are also on the rise.

Mixing Patterns
As interior trends often resemble closely to trends in the high-fashion industry, we are seeing more pattern mixing as designers become more daring in layering different textures on top of the other. While vivid colors catch your eye, striking patterns add flair to the home. One of the big design trends for 2019 we are already seeing is the tasteful mixing of patterns and textures in the same room.

Gold Finishes
Just as white has been the safe and go-to color for kitchens, chrome has often been the default choice for lighting and plumbing fixtures. Gold, bronze, and copper have also had their moments. However, we are seeing an unexpected ascent in brushed yellow gold finishes. Following that trend, gold furniture and accessories are also becoming more popular.
