In light of the recent catastrophic events surrounding hurricane Sandy, we can’t help but think about how Americans are so good at rallying around each other when tragedy occurs. During our most challenging times we see the best of the human spirit excel. This was true after 9-11 and it is true after Hurricane Sandy.
At Weixler Peterson Luzi, we have always believed in giving back to our community and realize how important it is to successful long-term relationships. Our three Principals and our staff are constantly engaged with our community. Whether doing pro-bono work for the Saint James School in Maryland, the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Laurel House in Norristown, or doing the Philadelphia Magazine Design Home to help raise funds for the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, we are all truly committed to service within our community and beyond.
We make it our policy to donate to charity silent auctions every year at least 10 packages at 5 hours each of our time to help raise funds for schools and organizations in our community. We also sit on committees and boards within these groups. Our work with the Central Delaware Advisory Group and the Society Hill Civic Association helps make our neighborhoods better. Our work extends to schools, churches, animal shelters, AIDS charities, and the list goes on and on.
We feel that giving back is both an obligation and a privilege, and it provides a pro-active vehicle to promote what we do best by helping others to do what they do. Our marketing approach is subtle – to be engaged in our community, to give rather than to seek. And being engaged with others doing good and necessary work in our communities adds to our overall well-being. It’s a two-way street. We are glad to be a part of this vibrant community and look forward to many more years of giving back.
We wish everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy a speedy and safe recovery.
