Joachim Casell born in Geona, Spain, August 1, 1927, dedicated to painting landscapes unspoiled by man, likes to paint the different seasons of the year. He grew up along the Mediterranean coast near the border of Spain and southern France. The warm, beautiful light and panoramic vistas of that region have had a lifelong impact on his artistic vision. His landscape and cityscape pastels are painted in a vibrant impressionist manner with strong colors and passionate strokes. Early in his career, before immigrating to the United States, Casell studied at Ecole de Beau Arts.
Mr. Casell is listed in Who’s Who in American Art, also in Barron’s Who’s Who in Interior Design, International Edition 1992.

He is the owner of his own New Orleans gallery, Casell Gallery, which features the award winning oil pastels of the owner. For 36 years Casell Gallery has been a fixture in the French Quarter art scene for both local and out of town collectors. The gallery also carries a wide variety of original works by other New Orleans artists and a large collection of antique prints as well as collectable posters.
